WB_SHARED_MEM_CTRL - Configuration

Frozen Content

The Shared Memory Controller can be configured after placement on the OpenBus System document, or schematic sheet, using the associated configure dialog (Figure 1). Access to this dialog depends on the document in which you are working:

  • In the OpenBus System document – access the dialog by right-clicking over the component and choosing the Configure command from the menu that appears. Alternatively, double-click on the component to access the dialog directly.
  • In the Schematic document – simply right-click over the device and choose the Configure command from the context menu that appears. Alternatively, click on the Configure button, available in the Component Properties dialog for the device.

The dialog is comprised of four pages – a general page for graphic-based attributes and clock synchronization, and one page each for specific settings relating to the three supported memory types that can be connected to.

Enabling a memory interface, for communications with the physical memory over the shared bus, is simply a case of checking the box associated with that memory type, in the left-hand pane of the dialog. Access the related settings page by clicking on the name of the memory.

Use the following linked pages to take a closer look at each of the pages in the dialog, and the settings they have to offer.
