Supported Assembly Outputs

The following assembly-type outputs can be generated in Altium Designer:

  • Assembly Drawings
  • Pick and Place Files
  • Assembly Testpoint Reports

Configuring Assembly Output Generators

The Assembly Outputs category in the OutputJob Editor allows you add and configure any of the output types listed above. The configuration dialog for each output type can be accessed in one of the following ways:

  • Selecting the required Output Generator and choosing the Configure command from the Edit menu
  • Right-clicking on the required Output Generator and choosing the Configure command from the pop-up menu that appears
  • Selecting the required Output Generator and using the keyboard shortcut, Alt + Enter
  • Double-clicking directly within the row for the required Output Generator.

Output generator configurations are in the OutJob file. Clicking OK in a configuration dialog saves that configuration, but does not proceed with output generation. Generation of output is performed by running the OutputJob Output Container that those Outputs are targetting.

Assembly Output can also be generated directly from within the active PCB document using the File » Assembly Outputs menu options. Output settings configured via the PCB editor's File or Reports menus are stored in the project file.
