The FRQCNT2 device enables the accurate frequency measurement of periodic signals in a design. Figure 1 shows an example of how the FRQCNT2 device is wired into a design.

In the example circuit above, the Counter module takes the NanoBoard's system clock (CLK_BRD) as its time-base and is used to measure the frequency of the signal output from a Frequency Generator module and the output of an embedded counter in a TSK165B_D microcontroller.
 

Remember that when using any virtual instrument in a design, you must ensure that the Soft Devices JTAG chain is enabled. For more information, see Enabling the Soft Devices JTAG Chain.
