NanoBoard 3000 - User FPGA

The NanoBoard 3000 provides a single FPGA device, to which an FPGA design is targeted and ultimately programmed. Referred to as the 'User FPGA', this device is fixed on the motherboard – there are no daughter boards used with the 3000-series NanoBoards.

The actual FPGA device resident on the motherboard will depend on which variant of NanoBoard you are using:

NanoBoard 3000XN - Xilinx Variant

User FPGA device (Spartan-3AN) on the
NanoBoard 3000XN.

The NanoBoard 3000XN provides a Spartan-3AN device (XC3S1400AN-4FGG676C) as its User FPGA. This is the same device that is used on Altium's Xilinx® Spartan™-3AN daughter board DB41. For an overview of this device, see XC3S1400AN-4FGG676C - Feature Summary.

NanoBoard 3000AL - Altera Variant

User FPGA device (Cyclone III) on the
NanoBoard 3000AL.

The NanoBoard 3000AL provides an Altera Cyclone III device (EP3C40F780C8N) as its User FPGA. This is the same device that is used on Altium's Altera® Cyclone® III daughter board DB40. For an overview of this device, see EP3C40F780C8N - Feature Summary.

NanoBoard 3000LC - Lattice Variant

User FPGA device (ECP2) on the
NanoBoard 3000LC.

The NanoBoard 3000LC provides a LatticeECP2 device (LFE2-35SE-5FN672C) as its User FPGA. This is the same device that is used on Altium's LatticeECP2™ daughter board DB43. For an overview of this device, see LFE2-35SE-5FN672C - Feature Summary.

Location on Board

The User FPGA device (designated U8) is located on the component side of the board, to the left of the common-bus SRAM and SDRAM, and below the interface for the Relays.
