Now the whole project has been finished and it is ready to be built. Make sure the NanoBoard is switched on and properly connected to your PC. Also make sure that you have connected a PS/2 keyboard to the PS/2 keyboard connector on the NanoBoard.

  1. In the Projects panel, right-click on the PS2_Echo_system.PrjFpg project and select Recompile FPGA Project PS2_Echo_system.PrjFpg.

  2. From the View menu, select Devices View and make sure the Live checkbox is checked.

  3. Select All Connected Devices in combo box in the toolbar area to ensure your NanoBoard is shown.

  4. Click on the Program FPGA button on the right side of the Devices view. The project is built in several stages. This may take quite some time, especially the stage of synthesizing the hardware design may be time consuming.

After the project has been built successfully, it is loaded into the FPGA on the NanoBoard. The Devices view now shows a symbol for the Terminal instrument and a symbol for the TSK3000A soft processing core.

  5. Double-click on the Terminal symbol to open the Terminal Instrument.

  6. Click on the Download button associated with the TSK3000A to load and start the application. The Terminal instrument's display should appear as shown in Figure 1.

Characters you type on the PS/2 keyboard connected to the NanoBoard are echoed on the Terminal instrument's display.
