Summary

The System – Design Insight page of the Preferences dialog provides controls relating to the user account management.

Access

The System – Design Insight page is part of the main Preferences dialog (DXP >> Preferences) and is accessed by clicking the Design Insight entry under the System folder, in the left hand pane of the dialog.

Options/Controls

Design Insight

• Enable Document Insight - Enable this option to display a preview of your document when you hover over the document icon in the Project panel or the document bar. This option is enabled by default.
   
• Enable Project Insight - Enable this option to display a preview of all documents in your project when you hover over the Project Icon in the Projects Panel. Schematic, PCB and OpenBus documents are displayed. This option is enabled by default.
   
• Enable Connectivity Insight - Enable this option to display the connectivity of the selected net object across your whole project in a preview window. Hover over a net object to display Connectivity Insight. The selected net is highlighted in the preview with all other objects masked. If the net object is connected to nets on other documents, these documents will be displayed with respect to your project hierarchy. Use shortcut Alt+Double Click on any net object to show Connectivity Insight on demand. 
  Compile the project to establish the connectivity information before using this feature. This option is enabled by default.
   
• Enable Supply Chain Insight - Enable this option to display a preview of supply chain information when you hover over components that contain manufactured part choices. You can preview the pricing and availability, or add/remove manufactured part choices. This option is enabled by default.
   
• Enable Hyperlink Insight - Enable this option to display a link over hyperlink objects or annotations and parameters that have a URL or website text string. This option is enabled by default.

• Mouse Hover Delay - Adjust the tracking bar to control the delay for the Connectivity Insight preview to appear.

Connectivity Insight Options

This table lists out the insight content to show, the users can enable Mouse Hover or Alt+Double Click to launch them.

• Document Tree - Enable Mouse Hover or Alt+Double Click to display the document tree in your Connectivity Insight. The current document is highlighted and if the net object is connected to nets on other documents, these documents will be displayed with respect to your project hierarchy. This option is enabled by default.
   
• Document Preview - Enable Mouse Hover or Alt+Double Click to display the document preview in your Connectivity Insight. This option is enabled by default. The Enable Document Insight option has to be enabled first before using this option. 
   
• Object Hints - Enable Mouse Hover or Alt+Double Click to display the Text Hint when you hover over a net object such as a net label, a port, a power port or a sheet entry.
   
• Hyperlink - Enable Mouse Hover or Alt+Double Click to display the Hyperlink when you hover over a hyperlink object, or annotations and parameters that have a URL or website text string. The Enable Hyperlink Insight option has to be enabled first before using this option.
