Summary

As its name suggests, the System – New Document Defaults page of the Preferences dialog allows you to define the default new documents and template.

Access

The System – New Document Defaults page is part of the main Preferences dialog (DXP » Preferences) and is accessed by clicking the New Document Defaults entry under the System folder, in the left hand pane of the dialog.

Options/Controls

File Template

Document Kind - This column lists all the document/project soft supports
New document default - Click the blank area of each document to define the default document. After definition, the defined document will be opened as a template.

If you have a company template, specify the directory in New Document Default area. Template could include information not only for board shape but also some design essentials such as design rules.
