The Print Preview Dialog.

Summary

The Print Preview dialog enables you to view your printouts and edit their setup definitions, before actually printing.

Access

This dialog can be accessed by clicking Files » Print Preview

Options/Controls

Thumbnails - Click this button to toggle the display of the thumbnails panel. This panel can show the thumbnails of the multi page print-out.

All - Click this button to preview the whole page and the print is automatically scaled to suit the current paper size and orientation.

Width - Click this button to preview the current width of the  page and the print is automatically scaled to suit the current paper size and orientation.

100% - Click this button to preview the document with a 100 % scale which depends on the size you have defined for the document.

Print - Click the button to print the current print out setup and the print out is scaled according to the scaling setup. To change the scaling, click on one of the scaling buttons or type in a percentage value in the % text box.

Edit Preview Percentage - Type in a value to scale the current preview of a print out.

Preview First - Click this button to go to the first page of a multi - document print out.

Preview Last - Click this button to go to the last page of the multi - document print out.

Preview Next - Click this button to go to the next page of the multi - document print out.

Preview Prior - Click this button to go to the previous page of the multi - document print out.

Edit Preview Page - Enter a value that has the following page / number of pages format into this field to jump to a preview document. For example 3/7.

You can pan around the zoomed printout by using the mouse to right-click, hold and drag the document. The page adjustment controls and the zoom controls are local to the Previewer and, as such, the actual printouts will appear as defined by the scaling options in the associated dialog for page setup. Features such as print region, page numbers, grid and margin, are also local to the Previewer and will not appear on the actual printouts. They are however persistent and their state is thus retained across preview sessions.
