In PCB editor, this dialog is named as Composite Properties, while in schematic editor, this dialog is named as Schematic Print Properties

In C/C++ header file, this dialog is named as C/C++ Header Print Properties.

In C source document editor, this dialog is named as C Source Print Properties.

In OpenBus system document, this dialog is named as OpenBus Print Properties.

In Software Platform document, this dialog is named as Software Platform Print Properties.

Use the dialog to set up the page properties for the document, ready for previewing and/or printing. Paper size, scaling, margin settings and the print color set can all be defined in the dialog.

Access

Run command File >> Page Setup to access dialog.

In Schematic Editor, click Advanced button in this dialog to access advanced Schematic Print Properties dialog.

In C source document Editor, click Advanced button in this dialog to access Advanced Text Print Properties dialog.

Options/Controls

Printer Paper

  • Size - Click a printer paper size from the drop down list.
  • Landscape - Enable this option to enable the printed output in the landscape orientation.
  • Portrait - Enable this option to enable the printed output in the portrait orientation.

Margins

  • Vertical -  Use vertical margin that will be created around each edge of the page. If the margin is set to zero the minimum margins required by the printer are used. Enable Center option to automatically position the image on the center of the page in vertical direction.

Scaling

  • Scale Mode -  The field determines the current print scale factor which defines how much the document is scaled. Set the Scale to greater than 1 to enlarge the document, or less than 1 to shrink the document. This option can only be changed when the Scale Mode option is set to Scaled Print.
  • Scale - The field determines the current print scale factor which defines how much the document is scaled. Set the Scale to greater than 1 to enlarge the document, or less than 1 to shrink the document. Note the Scale Mode needs to be set to Scaled Print first.

Corrections

  • X - Use the X and Y Correction settings to adjust the printout for scaling errors in the printer. Note that this option can only be changed only when the Scale Mode option is set to Scaled Print.
  • Y - Use the X and Y Correction settings to adjust the printout for scaling errors in the printer. Note that this option can only be changed only when the Scale Mode option is set to Scaled Print.

Color Set

  • Mono - Choose this option to use the monochrome color set and the printed paper uses black and white colors only.
  • Color - Enable this set to use the Color set and the printed paper uses all of the available printer colors if required.
  • Gray - Enable this option to use the grey scale color set. The printed paper uses grey scale color (black and white colors are used only to produce a grey scale).

Buttons

  • Print - Click on the button to print the current document. Note you can scale the print according to the Scaling options.
  • Preview - The preview buttons allows you to preview the design document before you produce a printed copy.
  • Advanced - In SCH Editor, click this button to call advanced Schematic Print Properties dialog,  in which the designer can configure drawing settings for print job. In PCB Editor, click this button to call the Printout Properties dialog and define or edit which printouts/layers, components on which layer etc.

Notes

The header of the dialog will change, depending on the document source - schematic or PCB - and the default print set that has been defined. Default prints are defined in the Default Prints tab of the Options for Project dialog.

The properties dialog for PCB-based printing also features an Advanced button, which gives access to the PCB Printout Properties dialog. Each of the printouts and constituent layers are listed. Layers may be added or deleted and the print properties for each layer edited in the corresponding Layer Properties dialog.
