The Rectangle Dialog.

Summary

To specify Rectangle properties in Schematic Editor.

Access

During placement, the dialog can be accessed by pressing the Tab key.

After placement, the dialog can be accessed in the following ways:

  • Double-clicking on the placed object.
  • Placing the cursor over the object, right-clicking and choosing Properties from the context menu.
  • Selecting the Edit » Change command, then clicking once over the Arc

Options/Controls

  • Border Color - Click the color sample to change the color of the border.
  • Border Width - This field specifies the width of the border line around the rectangle. The available border widths are : Smallest, Small, Medium, Large.
  • Fill Color - Click the color sample to change the fill color.
  • X1 Location - The field specifies the current X coordinate of the starting corner of the rectangle. To change the position of the corner point, enter the X coordinate value in the field. The position and shape of the object can also be set graphically by first clicking on the object to focus it and then using the editing handles to reshape the object.
  • Y1 Location - The field specifies the current Y coordinate of the starting corner of the rectangle. To change the position of the corner point, enter the Y coordinate values in these fields. The position and shape of the object can also be set graphically by first clicking on the object to focus it and then using the editing handles to reshape the object.
  • X2 Location - The field specifies the current X coordinate of the ending corner of the rectangle. To change the position of the corner point, enter the X coordinate value in the field. The position and shape of the object can also be set graphically by first clicking on the object to focus it and then using the editing handles to reshape the object.
  • Y2 Location - The field specifies the current Y coordinate of the ending corner of the rectangle. To change the position of the corner point, enter the Y coordinate value in the field. The position and shape of the object can also be set graphically by first clicking on the object to focus it and then using the editing handles to reshape the object.
  • Draw Solid - Enable this option to have the body of the rectangle filled with the current Fill Color. If this option is disabled, the rectangle is drawn as an outline (border) only with its body being transparent.
  • Transparent - Enable this option and this rectangle can let other objects come through when this rectangle is placed on top of these objects on the schematic.
  • Locked - If this option is checked, the Rectangle is protected from being edited graphically. Lock a Rectangle whose position or size is critical. If you try to edit a design object that is locked, you will be informed that this object is locked and asked if you wish to proceed with the action. If this option is unchecked, the design object can be freely edited without confirmation.

If the Protect Locked Objects option is enabled in the Schematic - Graphical Editing page of the Preferences dialog (Tools » Schematic Preferences), and the Locked option for this design object is enabled as well then this object cannot be edited
