After placement, the dialog can be accessed in the following ways:

  • Double-clicking on the placed object.
  • Placing the cursor over the object, right-clicking and choosing Properties from the context menu.

Options/Controls

  • Border Color - Click the color sample to change the color of the border.

Properties

  • Author - Enter in this text box to define the author's name for this schematic sheet.
  • Text - Click Change button to modify or define the text contents in the note.
  • Font - Click Change button to define a new font style for the text in the note.
  • Collapsed - Enable this option and the note is collapsed to a small yellow triangle. You can click on this triangle to expand this note.
  • Word Wrap - Enable this option to have text contained within the note area automatically wrap to fit the width of the note.
  • Clip To Area - Enable this option to have text only appear within the area of the note. If the text is too long to fit entirely within the note, then the complete contents of the text box will not be shown. The text will be clipped so that it fits neatly within the text frame area. If this option is disabled, all text contained in the note will be displayed. If the text is too long to fit within the note, then the text will "spill" out of the note area.
  • Locked - If this option is checked, the Note object is protected from being edited graphically. Lock a Note whose position or size is critical. If you try to edit a design object that is locked, you will be informed that this object is locked and asked if you wish to proceed with the action. If this option is unchecked, the design object can be freely edited without confirmation.

If the Protect Locked Objects option is enabled in the Schematic - Graphical Editing page of the Preferences dialog (Tools » Schematic Preferences), and the Locked option for this design object is enabled as well then this object cannot be edited
