The Junction dialog.

Summary

The Junction dialog allows you to modify the graphical look and feel of the manual junction object.

Access

The Junction dialog can be accessed prior to entering placement mode, from the Schematic – Default Primitives page of the Preferences dialog. This allows the default properties for the manual junction object to be changed, which will be applied when placing subsequent manual junctions.

During placement, the dialog can be accessed by pressing the Tab key.

After placement, the dialog can be accessed in one of the following ways:

  • Double-clicking on the placed manual junction object.
  • Placing the cursor over the manual junction object, right-clicking and choosing Properties from the context menu.

Options/Controls

  • Color – Click the color sample to change the color of the junction.
  • Location Xthis field specifies the current X coordinate of the junction. Edit the value to change the position of the object in the horizontal plane.
  • Location Y – this field specifies the current Y coordinate of the junction. Edit the value to change the position of the object in the vertical plane.
  • Size – this field sets the size of the junction. Available sizes are: Smallest, Small, Medium, and Large.
  • Locked – If this option is enabled, the junction will not be removed by the auto-junction feature, even if the junction is redundant. If this option is disabled, the auto-junction feature will automatically remove the junction if it becomes redundant due to wiring changes. Normally, with the auto-junction feature active (Tools » Preferences), as you change the wiring of a schematic, the connectivity of the schematic is analyzed and redundant unlocked junctions on wires are automatically deleted. By default, junctions automatically placed by the auto-junction feature are not locked.
