In PCB Editor, click Place >> Polygon Pour to access this dialog.

After placement, the dialog can be accessed in the following ways:

  • Double-clicking on the placed object.
  • Placing the cursor over the object, right-clicking and choosing Properties from the context menu.
  • Run command Edit >> Change, then click an existing object.

Options/Controls

Fill Mode

Click to choose one fill mode for the polygon pour. There are three modes available:

  • Solid (Copper Regions)
    • Remove Islands Less Than - Specify an area value, the polygon pour island whose area is smaller than this value will be removed.
    • Arc Approximation - Specify the maximum deviation from perfect arc.
    • Remove Necks When Copper Width Less Than - Specify a width value, the polygon pour copper whose width is smaller than this value will be removed.
  • Hatched (Tracks/Arcs)
    • Track Width - Specify the track width of the polygon grids.
    • Grid Size - Specify the grid size for hatched polygon.
    • Surround Pads With - Specify the shapes to surround the pads: Arcs or Octagons.
    • Hatch Mode - There are four mode available: 90 Degree, 45 Degree, Horizontal, Vertical. When a hatch mode is selected, the polygon preview will be shown in left side.
  • None (Outlines Only)
    • Track WidthSpecify the track width for polygon outline.

Properties

  • Name - Specify polygon name.
  • Layer - Specify the layer on which the polygon is placed.
  • Min Prim Length (Not available in the Solid Fill Mode) - Specify how short the track/arc objects in the fill mode are allowed to be.
  • Lock Primitives - Check the box to lock the primitives in the polygon.
  • Locked - Check the box to lock the polygon objects, if you try to move the polygon, a dialog will appear asking for confirmation to proceed with the edit.
  • Ignore On_Line Violations - Check the box to ignore on line violations check.

Net Options

  • Connect to Net - Assign a net to polygon pour object.
  • Remove Dead Copper - Check the box to remove any copper area without any net connection.

  • Pour Over All Same Net Objects - select this option if you want a polygon pour to automatically connect to all objects on the same net as the pour
  • Pour Over Same Net Polygons Only - select this option (default) if you want the polygon pour to automatically connect to only polygon pour objects inside its boundary, and which are associated to the same net
  • Don't Pour Over Same Net Objects - select this option if you specifically do not wish the polygon pour to connect to any other net objects

If either of the first two options are chosen and the polygon pour is assigned to No Net, it will pour around all objects regardless of their net assignments.
