Summary
The Design View dialog allows designer to set up the properties of Design View. Design View allows the designer to place a snapshot of any rectangular shaped region of the current board, or another board.
Access
The Design View dialog can be accessed prior to entering placement mode, from the PCB Editor - Defaults page of the Preferences dialog (DXP » Preferences). This allows you to change the default properties for the Design View object, which will be applied when placing subsequent design view.
During placement, the Design View dialog can be accessed by pressing the TAB key.
After placement, the Track dialog can be accessed in the following ways:
- Double-clicking on the placed Design View object
- Right-clicking the design view object and selecting Properties from the pop-up menu.
- Run command Edit » Change, then click an existing object.
Options/Controls
Definition Tab
Appearance
- Location - Specify the X, Y coordinate(left bottom) of the design view area
- Width - Specify the width of the design view area
- Height - Specify the height of the design view area.
- Define area - Clicking the Define area button, which returns you to the workspace with a crosshair cursor, and then defining the rectangular region of the view.
Title
- Title - Specify the title of the design view area
- Font - Choose the font for the title
- Color - Click the color to choose the color of the title
- Height - Specify the height of the title
Properties
- This document - Check this option to place design view on the current PCB document
- Specify document - Check this option to place design view on a different PCB document. Click the button to open the Choose PCB Design File dialog,
- Locked - Check this option to lock the Design View.
- Mirrored - Check this option to mirror the design view.
Layer Tab
Select the Layers tab and enable the required layers
