Component Parameters in Smart PDF Output

Adding additional 'smarts' to its Smart PDF feature, Altium Designer now includes component parameters in generated PDF output. Generate your PDFs in the manner to which you have become accustomed, either directly using the Smart PDF wizard, or from the convenience of an Output Job Configuration file. Once generated, simply click on a component on a sheet in your PDF, and peruse its parameters in a convenient pop-up.

Click on a component in the generated PDF to access its parameters.

This feature works regardless of generating a PDF of a single schematic sheet, or a PDF of the entire project, with all source schematic documents.

Controlling Feature Use

There may be times where you don't want to use this feature, preferring instead to keep component parameters hidden from public view. To that end, control over whether such parameters are included or not in a generated PDF is provided, as part of the Additional PDF Settings page of the Smart PDF wizard. In the Additional Information region of the page, use the Include Component Parameters option to toggle parameter inclusion on (enabled) or off (disabled) as required.

Use the dedicated Include Component Parameters option to determine whether such parameters will be
available for public consumption in a generated PDF.

URL-based Parameters

Where a component contains a parameter whose value is a URL to a web page, in the format http://siteaddress, that entry will be a live link in the parameter pop-up. Simply click such a parameter entry to follow the link and access the URL in your external Web browser.

Inclusion of the http:// prefix is required. Shortened forms of URL are not supported, such as www.altium.com, or live.altium.com.

A parameters with a URL as its value becomes an active link in the parameter pop-up for the component. Click to access the URL.
