Altium Designer’s Output Job Editor, the central location for configuring and saving publication outputs, has been improved to make managing Output Jobs easier.

The enhancements are particularly useful when a large number of OutJobs have been defined in the editor, where tasks such as selecting/deselecting OutJobs for publishing, and navigating an extended Outputs list, have been upgraded.

The new OutputJob Editor improvements include bulk OutJob enable/disable capabilities, scrollable window lists, drag & drop job reordering and the ability to open an existing (previously generated) PDF.

Enable/disable OutJobs

Bulk activation (or deactivation) of configured output generators is now available via the right-click context menu:

  • Enable All - Right click on an output job and choose Enable All to enable all jobs in the associated output category (for example, Fabrication Outputs).

  • Disable All - Right click on an output job and choose Disable All to disable all jobs in the associated output category (for example, Fabrication Outputs).

  • Enable Selected – Select a number of output jobs (using Ctrl+click or Shift+click), then right click on a selected job and choose Enable Selected. All selected jobs will be enabled for publishing

  • Disable Selected – Select a number of output jobs (using Ctrl+click or Shift+click), then right click on a selected job and choose Disable Selected. All selected jobs will be disabled for publishing.

Scrollable window lists

The main list windows in the OutputJob Editor can now be scrolled using the mouse wheel.

  • The Outputs list can be freely scrolled, with the graphic representation of publishing target links (green lines) maintained.

  • The Output Container and Hard Copy windows are scrollable and include scroll bars.

Drag & drop OutJob reording

The order of Output Jobs in the Outputs list can now be reconfigured using a simple drag & drop mouse action.

To change the position of an OutJob in the list, select and drag the job to the desired location in the list.

Note that OutJobs can only be moved within their applicable (and therefore current) Output section.

Open existing PDF

A PDF generated by a previously executed OutJob can now be directly opened via a new Open PDF option, available from the editor's right click context menu.

This avoids the need for an existing PDF to be regenerated in order for it to be viewed.

Both the Open PDF and Generate PDF commands are accessed by right-clicking on a PDF output entry in the Output Job Editor’s Output Containers list.
