Improved Rule - Minimum Copper Width
Summary
Some manufacturing rules have been improved to keep up with the changing nature of today's designs. Minimum Copper Width is one of those rules. Previously, the existing minimum width rule operated only at the individual primitive level which occasionally resulted in missed and false errors. This rule now properly analyzes the physical copper that should exist in the manufactured board. When enabled, this rule ensures that the minimum width of all the primitives in one net will be greater or equal with the user specified Min Width constraint, and that the Max Width constraint has not been changed. Only the following electrical objects will be checked: track, arc, fill, pad, via (the polygon regions will not be checked for narrow necks).
Figure 1. To use this new rule, simply select the Check Min/Max Width for All Connected Copper. The option Check Tracks/Arcs Min/Max Width Individually shown in this dialog will use the old rule behavior.
