Summary
This dialog enables you to configure the information for the report you wish to generate and export it in various formats. For example, you may be generating a Bill of Materials report or a Component Cross Reference report - this dialog gives you control over how and what is displayed, as well as defining a format when generating the report as part of a batch-processed Output Job.
Access
When you run a Bill of Materials(Report » Bill of Materials) or a Component Cross Reference Report(Report » Component Cross Reference), the Report Manager dialog displays to help you format your report.
Options/Controls
Grouped Columns
You can choose to group components together by one or more specific columns of information. The column heading appears in the Grouped Columns section and the data is updated to display according to the new groups.
- Show - Tick the Show box to add the corresponding data to BOM data area
All Columns
The All Columns section lists all available columns that can be used in the report. These information columns are sourced from the properties of all components on the document (or the source documents if a project is open) for which the report is being generated.
- Show - Tick the Show box to add the corresponding data to BOM data area
BOM Data
This field list all the Data which will be shown in the BOM. The column of data is defined by ticking the Show box in Grouped Columns and All Columns area.
Export Options
- File Format - Select a File Format from the drop-down list. When exporting the data using the Export option from the Report Manager dialog, the following file formats are supported:
- CSV (Comma Delimited) (*.csv)
- Microsoft Excel Worksheet (*.xls)
- Portable Document Format (*.pdf)
- Tab Delimited Text (*.txt)
- Web Page (*.htm;*.html)
- XML Spreadsheet (*.xml).
- Add to Project - If you want to have the generated report added to the project after it is created, enable the Add to Project option in the Report Manager dialog.
- Open Exported - If you want the relevant software application, e.g. Microsoft Excel, to open once the exported file has been saved, make sure the Open Exported option is enabled in the Report Manager dialog.
Excel Options
- Template - Enter the required Excel template file (*.XLT) directly into this field or browse for it by clicking the ... button. The Template drop-down contains a range of default templates included in the installation.
- Relative Path to Template File - Check this option to show relative path to template file in Template area.
Supplier Options
Once you have added the required live Supplier Links to your Altium Designer components, the linked supplier data – including pricing and stock information – can be included at design release time, in a Bill Of Materials.
- Changing Supplier Currency - You can specify the currency used for pricing-related data in a Bill of Materials, from a range of supported currencies. Simply choose the required currency from the drop-down field available to the left of the Production Quantity field, in the Supplier Optionsregion of the Bill of Materials dialog.
- Production Quantity - The Production Quantity is used to determine the Supplier Order Quantity – the quantity of component that would need to be ordered to produce the given product quantity.
- Round up Suppplier Order Qty to cheaper price break - The Supplier Order Quantity is used to determine the Supplier Unit Price that applies. Remember that suppliers typically offer various quantity pricing levels, depending on how many units of an item you purchase. To have Altium Designer round up the Supplier Order Quantity to take advantage of the next (reduced) pricing level, simply enable the Round up Supplier Order Qty to cheaper price break option.
- Use cached pricing data in parameters if offline - When working offline, you have the ability to use the last cached pricing data in these pricing-based parameters. Simply enable the Use cached pricing data in parameters if offline option
Included Not Fitted Components - If you use Variant in project, check this option to include Not Fitted components in BOM.
Include Parameters From Database - Check this option to include parameters from database. If it is checked, parameters will be shown in All Column region.
Include Parameters From PCB - Check this option to include parameters from PCB(eg. Layer). If it is checked, parameters will be shown in All Column region.
Include Parameters From Vault - If the component is from Vault, select this option to include parameters from Vault.
Menu - Click this button to pop up a menu related to BOM settins.
Export - Click this button to start generating BOM according to the settings.
