Minimum Solder Mask Sliver
Rule Category: Manufacturing
Rule Classification: Binary
Summary
Minimum Solder Mask Sliver helps identify narrow sections of solder mask that may cause manufacturing problems later. Ensuring that there is a minimum width of solder mask across the board, this rule checks the distance between any two solder mask openings that are equal to or greater than the user-specified value. This includes the pad, vias and any primitives that reside on solder mask layers. It also checks Top and Bottom sides independently.
To summarize, this rule:
- Checks that the distance between any 2 solder mask openings is greater then the user specified value;
- Checks only pad, vias & any primitives that reside on solder mask layers;
- Checks Top / Bottom sides independently
Constraints
- Minimum Solder Mask Sliver - minimum allowed width of solder mask.
