The ECO Generation tab of the Project Options dialog.

Summary

The ECO Generation tab of the Project Options dialog enables you to specify which modification types can be included when generating an Engineering Change Order, based on differences found by the Comparator.

The tab lists modifications that can be made, based on differences that have been found by the Comparator when comparing documents. Set up the various modifications - associated with components, nets and parameters - as required. For each possible modification, you can either choose to Generate Change Orders or Ignore Differences, using the associated drop-down in the Mode column.

Right-click anywhere within the main area of the tab to bring up a pop-up menu, from where you can access the Report Previewdialog, with a report of the modification levels you have set already loaded.

Access

Click ECO Generation tab in Printer Options dialog (Project » Project Options).

Options/Controls

  • Grid Modification Levels - The Modification Type list outlines modifications associated with Components, Nets and Parameters for a project. For each modification type, you can set the mode to Find Differences or Ignore Differences by clicking on the Mode field. Any modifications generated when comparing documents in a project will appear in the Messages window. Compare the documents of a design project by going to the Tools | Show Differences menu.
  • Set To Installation Defaults - Click this  button to return the Mode entry for each of the modification types to the default state (which is Generate Change Orders for all).

Notes

If a modification type has its Mode defined as Ignore Differences, then any design update that results in the action being of this modification type, will not be transferred to the Engineering Change Order dialog, when the ECO is created.
