Summary

The Text Editors – Display page of the Preferences dialog provides controls and information related to text colors.

Access

The Text Editors – Colors page is part of the main Preferences dialog (DXP >> Preferences) and is accessed by clicking the Colors entry under the Text Editors folder, in the left hand pane of the dialog.

Options/Controls

Editor Colors Settings

  • Color SpeedSettings - List all existing color settings in the software. Click the drop-down list to select a desired setting, including Default, Classic, Ocean, Twilight, Visual Studio, Altium. By selecting Custom, the designer can define color settings manually.
  • Element - List out all elements existing in the text. Each element has a default setting in lower section of the dialog.
  • Foreground Color - Click the drop-down list to select a foreground color for the selected element. Enable Use default color to use system defined color for the element.
  • Background Color - Click the drop-down list to select a background color for the selected element. Enable Use default color to use system defined color for the element.
  • Text attributes - Enable the check boxes to define attributes for the text, including Bold, Italic, and/or Underline.

Buttons

  • Load Colors - Click to open Load Color Scheme dialog, in which the designer can load the color settings(*.clr file) for external sources.
  • Save Colors - Click to open Save Color Scheme As dialog, in which the designer can export and save the color settings as a *.clr file.
  • Configure Language - Click to open Language Setup dialog,from where the designer can create, edit and manage a list of languages that can be associated to documents opened in the Text Editor. Each language consists of a syntax scheme and a set of code templates.
