The PCB Printout Properties Dialog.

Summary

This dialog provides controls related to PCB printout settings. The designers can add new printouts,  remove or re-order existing printouts.

This dialog also provides several predefined printouts. Right click in grid area to access these predefined printouts, including Create Final, Create Composite, Create Power-Plane Set, Create Mask Set, Create Drill Drawings, Create Assembly Drawings, Create Composite Drill Guide.

Access

Right-click in the Print Preview dialog (File » Print Preview) and choose Configuration command to access this dialog.
 

Options/Controls

Main Grid

This area lists all printouts and related settings. 

  • Printouts & Layers - This column lists the printouts' names and layers included, click printout name to enter a new one.
  • Include Components - This column is used to define which components are included in the printout, components in Top layer, Bottom layer, or Double Sided.
  • Printout Options - This column provides controls related to printout settings, including Holes, Mirror, TT Fonts(True type font) and Design Views, the designer can enable desired options as required.

Right click in this main grid to insert a new printout, or insert a layer for an existing printout. The designer can also move up/down a selected printout with right-click menu.

Designator Print Settings

  • Choose the data to print in component designators - Choose desired component designators from drop-down list: Print Physical Designators, or Print Logical Designators.

Area to Print

  • Entire Sheet - Choose this option to print entire sheet.
  • Specific Area- Choose this option to specify an area manually. 
  • Lower Left Corner X, Y - Enter X, Y value for lower left corner.
  • Upper Right Corner X, Y - Enter X, Y value for upper right corner.
  • Define - Click this button, the cursor will change to cross-hair. Choose an area manually in the PCB board to define an area to print.
